Procedure

Charge water (A) into the main vessel. With moderate mixing, add Natriquest E30 (B). Add the Carbopol Aqua SF-2 (C). Slowly add Iselux SFS and Pureact WS Conc (D) sequentially to the batch. Heat to 50-55°C and mix until completely uniform. Remove heat and begin cooling. Adjust the pH with sodium hydroxide solution (25%) to 6.50-7.00. Add Emulsil Ct-50 (F) to the main batch. In a side vessel, premix water and Mackadet OPR-1 (G). Once uniform, add to the main batch. Slowly add Condicare PQ-7 (H) to the batch. At 40°C, add Euxyl K712 (I). Add fragrance (J). Adjust the pH of the batch using citric acid 50% solution (K) to 5.00-5.50. If further visicosity adjustments are needed, small increments of sodium chloride can be used. Note: This formula is salt-friendly. Viscosity can be increased by adding salt, reducing the pH or increasing the Carbopol Aqua SF-2.

Appearance—white, slightly pearlized flowable liquid; pH— 5.00-5.50; Viscosity, cps: 4,000-10,000 *Brookfield RV #5 @ 30 rpm, 25°C; Stability—8 weeks at room temperature, 45°C, 5°C and 3 cycles of freeze/thaw.
